16/01/10 RENOVATION AT CLEETHORPES!
You will probably be aware that at Cleethorpes we are undergoing a renovation. We are basing it on our Lincoln branch as it has proved to be a great success. The renovations started on the 4th january and are expected to carry on until the middle of March. We apologise for any inconveniance this may create but we expect it to make your shopping experience that much greater.
The restaurant will be closed for one week from the 18th as a new servery is being put in and we are adding another 40 chairs due to the continued success.
Pennells at Lincoln has already started to get its furniture out ready for hopefully a hot spring!
14/09/09 Christmas is coming!!!!
The time has come where both Garden Centres are now selling of their shop floor furniture (so bargains to be had!) and the Christmas is starting to be put out.
Putting out our Christmas decorations to the high standard we aspire to takes approximately 3-4 weeks and should be ready for the end of the first week of October.
29/07/09 WINNERS OF THE MOST IMPROVED GARDEN CENTRE and BEST RESTAURANT in the MIDLANDS!!!
Pennells Garden Centre in Lincoln has been awarded the Best restaurant in the Midlands for the Garden Centre Association beating of some formidable Garden Centres such as Webbs of Wychbold. The Garden centre also won the most improved garden centre in the midlands.
Both Cleethorpes and Lincoln achieved Awards of Merit for Garden Centre Approach and People Awards. Lincoln also got a further 7 including facilities and Outdoor Living.

This month Pennells in Lincoln have hired Michelle to assist Kevin on the chemicals/fertilisers and furniture section. So if you need any questions answering please do not hesitate to ask her.There is now a Children’s Bird and Animal Hunt within Lincoln garden centre where children up to a recommended age of 6 can look around the garden centre searching for 10 animals and then receive a prize at the end!There is one event in June on the 16th for people who would like to know how to design a wildlife garden. Cost is £2 per person and you'll receive a 20-30 minute talk with a Q and A session afterwards.01/05/09
This months offer is the Herb offer where you can buy one herb plant (£2.99 1ltr pot) and get one free!!! All you need is the voucher that would have been sent if you are on our mailing list. If your not and would like to be then please go to your local Pennells Garden Centre and ask for one of these cards (you will be able to do this months offer as well).
Lincoln Garden centre welcomes another new employee to our ranks, Neil who will be working along side our outdoor plant area staff. If you have any questions regarding plants such as care or choice then please feel free to ask Neil when you see him.
The first craft workshop/demonstration day took place at the end of April and was a great success. 16 people turned up and had an enjoyable afternoon. Because of this success we will be doing another event in early June so keep an eye out for (maximum 20 people).

The vegetables are now starting to appear within the Garden centres and our offer on the tomatos (BOGOF with a card. 1 per household) is going strong.
Seed Potatos our now out of stock and both our suppliers are out of stock as well for the rest of the season.
Our craft demonstration and workshop is on the 28th April and is promising to be a good event. We have Jane Alford coming in to do the demonstration/workshop and for only £15 you get all the materials supplied, a free coffee/tea and piece of victoria sponge and 15% of any craft in the following week (on presentation of a discount card). Well March has almost come and gone without a comment and for the large part the weather has been excellant.
The furniture sections are pretty much fully stocked with all the Garden Furniture you could require with a price range for every customer! Pennells largest two suppliers this year are Hartman and Nova but with many other suppliers also in stock. Please call the Garden Centre with any questions and our staff will be happy to help.
Pennells in Lincoln have hired two more weekend staff to help make your visit as comfortable as possible. There is Ben who will work outside in the Shrub area and Helen who will work on the tills.
Artic Spas have stopped trading from Pennells in Lincoln from Wednesday 27/03/09. If you have any questions regarding the future of the products you may have purchased from them please call UK Warehouse/Distributors on 01299 250552.

Both Garden Centres now have their Kinder plug plants out. With a wide range of variety at an excellant price. (Please call the Garden centres individually for any questions)
Grimsby Garden centre are having a furniture sale with upto 50% of some sets. These include makes such as Hartman, Norfolk Leisure, Neptune and Kettler. This is only as stocks last and only on selected sets.
Now the Snow has come and gone the spring will soon be on us so start stocking up on your bedding now, home grown on our own nursery and priced at £2.80ea or 5 packs for £11!

- Pennells in Lincoln welcome to the team three new members of staff. After nearly 400 applicants for the four jobs the following were succesful and started working in late January.

Pennells in Lincoln have now had their new Restaurant open for nearly 4 months now and is continuing to grow from strength to strength whilst maintaining its core values of home made food at a great price.
The New building for the Garden Centre opened in early October and has enjoyed the additions of the three concessions (Pavers, Yeomans and Leading Labels) which has added extra reasons to visit the Garden centre and soon will be transferring from Christmas to Garden furniture (including the brands of Hartman, Nova, Kewdos, Bellagio and others).
